Spotify track URIs or links are needed to send uploaded songs back to Spotify. Song names alone can still be ranked and downloaded. Spotify imports include album covers; uploaded files can supply HTTPS cover URLs. Missing covers show a placeholder. For collaborations in files, use primaryArtist or semicolon-separated artist names.

How the comparisons work
Quick ranking: place each song in one of five tiers, then answer a limited number of comparisons. The sorter favors songs with few comparisons and close ratings, with occasional checks across tier boundaries. Your head-to-head choices determine the order where available; other placements use the tiers and estimated ratings. The complete list is approximate, especially for closely matched songs.
Exact ranking: merge sort combines small ranked groups into one complete order. It assumes consistent preferences: if you prefer A to B and B to C, A ranks above C. No song is eliminated.
Estimates are upper limits and can finish early. Quick ranking counts tier choices separately from head-to-head comparisons. Your progress saves on this browser, and you can download a session backup.
Your Spotify connection & privacy
Spotify handles sign-in and permission approval. This page never asks for your Spotify password. It requests access to read your playlists and create private playlists; your original playlist is not changed.
Login tokens stay in this browser tab’s session storage. Rankings and imported song details are saved locally so you can resume. Disconnect clears the local login tokens; you can also revoke the app’s access in your Spotify account. Starting a new playlist removes the previous locally saved ranking.
Imported cover images load from their original image hosts. This page does not send playlist files to an app server or include analytics. While the Spotify app is in development mode, account access is limited to approved testers and imports to playlists you own or collaborate on.
